I've used these at my desktop for years and have also owned the little plastic Klipsch and Mirage Nanosat. The Radius has the same amount of bass as the Nanosat, but the Radius has more detail because the Nanosat aims upwards. The Klipsch that connect with sub are terrible compared to the Radius for sound quality but have the bass. The tweeters are the same gold domed tweeters on Monitor Audio's home line, so they have detail and clarity even at low volumes unlike most small speakers. The cabinets are heavy so the mid to low frequencies reproduce very well, the cabinets don't rattle. If you add a sub and a decent amp, these can work as a micro audiophile system. I paired the Radius 90 with a Creek passive preamp, and two Flying Mole monoblock amplifiers with an Fiio player, it can either fill up the whole office or just play for the one individual space without losing any sound fidelity.Read full review

Amazing sound for such a small package. I tried them as main fronts with my tube amp in the office, substituting for a Totem Model 1. They cannot match that setup of course, but performed surprisingly well for such a small box. They will be installed as surrounds for a 5.1 setup with Pioneer Elite receiver and Totems Rainmakers as fronts and centre. I was looking for something smaller, lighter to mount from the ceiling, and looked at the Radius 45 first. And then I came across this little gem. I think this will do just fine for the rear. They do lack the bottom definition, but that is what the Velodyne 20" downfiring 1989 oak cabinet grout shattering subwoofer is for. It will be a fine setup. Hard to find speaker. What has happened to Monitor Audio ? UK only now ? Here in Toronto the G&G dealer cannot get them from distributor any more. Conclusion: great speaker, slightly pricey for the size, and hard to find now.Read full review

Have been using these for years, now, They excel for surround channels for Dolby Surround systems - currently using three in a 5.1 system and four in a 7.2.2 system. Excellent imaging and good coverage from 80 hz, which is good. They also match up well with higher line Monitor Audio products, such as the Silver and Gold lines. They give up too much to the Silver RX-1s in direct comparison to use as front L and R, imo, but are excellent for surround/effects. A bargain at 100 bucks or so on the used market.

I was a bit taken back by the quality of these drivers! They could be used as rear surrounds or even as pair of mains pending you have a nice sub to cover lower end.. perfect for apartment or smaller room 8x12

Male vocals really standout and most speakers are not that articulate. Love that these hit above their weight class. Everybody is always surprised, except the English folk. Love these speakers small form factor with impressive sound.
