I bought this lens from England;Richmond Cameras. It was well packed and the delivery was pretty quick. You can see and feel the quality, it is well build, maybe a little heavey(not for me by the way) ,but not too.. Very happy with this high quality lens and saved me a lot of money compared here in my country to recommend!

Not only am I blown away, but so is my Panasonic Leica 25mm f1.8. This lens is sharper and captures better detail. I can live with f2.8 aperture instead of f1.4 in return for the better image quality and more versatile lens.

I bought this lens to replace my Panasonic 14-45. There was nothing wrong with that lens regarding image quality but I wanted something a little faster. The Olympus 12-40 f2.8 is an absolute beauty, it delivers excellent high quality images even from wide open. Handling is very good indeed and the manual focus clutch mechanism is superb. It is not without it's drawbacks however and on a smaller lighter micro 4/3 body it may feel a little unbalanced but on the OM-D E-M1 that I use it balances very well, it is also very expensive but you get what you pay for I suppose. I don't regret buying it and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone in the market for a wide to short telephoto zoom that just keeps on delivering.
This lens is very sharp, and I found it far better than, for instance, the 12-50 kit lens. It's also far better balanced on the camera E-M5; and being heavier, I find it easier to get sharp results at low shutter speeds. Having said that, it's no lightweight! I bought the Olympus kit and sold my Canon DSLR, because the latter was too heavy, now that I'm getting ancient. Its weight isn't ideal for me, but I'll definitely forgive it that, given its performance on the E-M5. I can only highly recommend it.
This is a really useful lens I use it for everything from macro shots to portrates and landscapes. The only down side is when used on an OMD Em10 the built in flash casts a shadow from the lens. So the EM 10 built in flash cannot be used , it may be okay with flash guns supplied with the EM 1 or EM5. That said the quality of the results is very good I will not be using the kit lens zoom anytime soon.
