Yes, the dome was exactly as described, but unfortunately part of the insert was missing. However, once I notified Garden-Selections of this, a piece was sent immediately. Excellent customer service. I am using this as wet weather protection for my bird feeder rather than against squirrels and it is brilliant.

It's big, it's shiny and it seems to work
I assumed that the product would enclose the top of the bird feeder but it actually sits slightly above it, almost like an umbrella so does not deter the birds in any way. Before we got this, squirrels would simply hang from the branch above with their back feet and stick their noses and front feet through the supposed "squirrel proof" mesh. That's no longer possible and they've not even tried.The price is competitive but it would have been cheaper to buy a genuinely squirrel proof feeder (with a bigger gap between the inner and outer cages) in the first place rather than this as well. Works well, easy to fit and looks good.
I removed the hook assembly easily and just fitted the bowl round the pole of my existing bird feeding station to work as a baffle. Excellent way to stop squirrels getting to the bird feeders by climbing up the central pole. Just need to remember to site the whole thing far enough away from anything the squirrels can use to jump straight onto the feeders. Easy to fit and looks good.

The dome seems to be of good quality clear plastic and was easy to fit. Since I have it fitted above a bird feeder, it has the added advantage of keeping the contents dryer than normal in rain. The squirrels seem to be totally confused by it. They can't reach the feeder from the side or below and can now only stare at it longingly from above since they are unable to get down to help themselves. Works!!!
It is great fun watching squirrels shaking their tails in anger, when they cannot get at the food. This is a first class item ,and it is only when there is a table or such like item to jump from,that they can get a purchase on the food cake.
