Very good value but needs careful cutting
This cork sheet is excellent value and was delivered very rapidly. I wanted it for a fairly specialised job - underlay for my model railway. What I found was that though much cheaper than the normal cork underlay for model railways this type is made of much coarser grains of cork - more lumps and hunks, typically 2-3mm across, than grains! This means it tears very easily and thus needed a different cutting technique, marking out carefully first and then using a large heavy metal straight edge and a new blade in a Stanley knife to press it flat and cut it without tearing and jagged edges. Treated like this, it is great and works well but I deduce it is really aimed at a different market, presumably as a sound insulator.This cork sheet is excellent value and was delivered very rapidly. Does the job well
Bought for a 2x4 m squared room to go under laminate flooring as apparently it’s better for the noise reduction. As there was a little left over he doubled it up where heavy foot traffic would be. It did rip a little but family member who installed it said it is much better than the cheaper plastic/paper sheeting. I would buy this again when I do another room or my hallways.
