Effective lubrication for SDS Plus & SDS Max Hammer Drills
The need for effective lubrication of SDS Plus Hammer Drills is often completely overlooked, especially if the manufacturer has not included a small sample of grease in the drill case. This is an important routine maintenance requirement if your drill is to be protected from excessive wear and tear whilst in use. This 30g tube of Makita hammer drill grease provides a cost effective solution since very little is used when maintaining the drill gearbox grease level at an optimum level, Insertion and removal of SDS bits into the drill chuck will also benefit from a light smear of grease which will then coat the interior of the chuck mechanism and prolong the useful working life of the chuck which functions to allow the inserted bit to move back and forward at high speed within the chuck jaws. ... Disappointing.
Sorry! but my opinion is that this grease is not half as thick as other types of sds. grease that i've used in the past, this was virtually running off the drill shank when I applied it.

Looks good but quite expensive.
Convenient and easy to use but it i bit pricy for simple grease. It might have special ingredients that makes it better than grease sold in larger tins for less price. How are we to know? On the other hand it might be special and prevent expensive gearbox breakdown so perhaps better to bite the bullet and buy this 'special product'. By the way my instruction book advised filling the gearbox and this took the whole bottle.Convenient and easy to use but it i bit pricy for simple grease.
