    So so quality

    I’ve installed a number of these converters with mixed results... some allow a continual flow of water when the bleeder is off and the solenoid isn’t energized. Others leak because instead of a nice fiber washer where the actuator screws onto the valve body, they chose to use an Oring that bunches up when the actuator is tightened down to the body... just one problem after the other. I finally cut out the whole valve and replaced it with a complete lawn genie anti siphon valve for $20 bucks... save your time, money and effort!

    Quite reliable.

    Although it's made of heavy duty plastic, not brass, these valves have held up really well over the years that I've used them. Buying these valves brand new is about the same cost as rebuilding a brass valve but involves less effort. Tip: Once they have been operated and removed, do not reinstall this valve before discharging the water contained in it. (You can do this by pushing on the valve stem.) Otherwise the plastic nut that holds the body to the brass shaft may strip. I observed that the later models have a sturdier nut.
