    A Must Have for Peace of Mind

    I have several of these around the house at potential leak spots. It has saved me from disaster a couple of times, especially the one by the water heater. I was woken up at 2 AM with the S.O.S. sound and was able to turn off the water to the heater and start draining it before the leak spread. I have them under sinks and in back of the Fridge as well. The batteries seem to last 2 or 3 years before you get a low battery warning sound.

    Water detector is needed

    This type is fantastic. A month after purchasing one the alarm went off. This size is perfect for tight places, like between a washer and dryer. It was a small leak, clogged drain vents at top but could have been worse. A low alarm battery is a must since they are easy to forget.

    Multiple "real-life" tests. Works as advertised. Cheap insurance against water in basement.

    Had a real test case within a week. Alarm detected water outside the sump and went off at 5:30 AM. Piercing beep is easy to hear even upstairs. Actually purchased a second as this is _much_ cheaper than having to clean up the basement after a sump pump failure. Recommend Energizer batteries for long-life without issues. Set yourself a reminder to pro-actively change the batteries every 2 years.

    Amuch needed item for every home

    The Leak alert is a great, most useful and valuable item. Placed under the sink, behind the washer in the basement, next to the hot water tank, this unit will alert you to any moisture. I have several, and I've had 2 occasions where they were activated.

    Best Aquarium Leak Detector.

    My main use is under my Aquariums, it works! Secondary use is under kitchen sink, in 2 bathrooms and by water heater. Water damage can cost a fortune, better safe at a very low cost with a product that works. Have one for more then 10 years. Thanks, MV.
