Product Information

Playing through the story of the feature film and including additional, original scenes, the video game version of X-Men Origins: Wolverine is a mission-driven action-adventure with lots of combat. Players control the mutant who will become Wolverine from a third-person perspective. The fighting interface is based on light, heavy, and grapple attacks, with improvised combos and sharp finishing moves. As he fights, Wolverine builds rage, which allows more powerful attacks. The agile hero can also perform a lunge attack, leaping with his claws extended toward an enemy. Wolverine's feral senses give him enhanced surveillance capabilities. When he is hit, wounds appear and heal quickly, distinguishing his mutant regenerative abilities. Throughout the adventure, Wolverine encounters other characters with related origin stories.

    Fun for Wolverine fans, but awkward camera angles makes it disappointing.

    I am a huge Wolverine fan, and I had big expectations for this game. I must admit that I am a tad disappointed. Don't get me wrong, it has some great moments such as the unique cinematic fight scenes, multiple combos, and lunge feature. Unfortunately, you have no ability to change the camera angle, which can make fighting large groups of enemies a bit difficult. Also, at times the game turns into a button masher with no real strategy required and there are a couple of annoying bugs that sometimes mess with the graphics. Overall, I enjoy playing the game, simply becuse I am a Wolverine fan, like I said, but I think X2: Wolverine's Revenge does a much better job at capturing the essence the Wolverine character.

    A wolverine game that I might soon forget.

    Graphics-8/10 Pretty decent but based on what Sony and Eidos has done so far Activiton has a ways to go. Gameplay-7/10 Should be the best part but is often frustrating and u die a few times b4 u can catch the learning curve. But when u do its not so bad. Sounds- 4/10 Repetitive. Some voices don't resemble the movie. Story- 5/10 Weird and nuthin like the movie. Overall 7.5 - for a movie game its okay but hardly a keeper. Hack and Slash away my friend.
