The opener People Of The Sun" clocks in at just 2:30, it is the perfect opener and is a fine example of Toms creative guitar work where in this song he used an Allan wrench to pluck the strings. The rest of the band are excellent as well. Tim is an original bassist. Instead of playing the same lines as the guitarist, he thinks up his own lines. Zacks vocals are aggressive, his rap style is clever. Zack cant sing at all so he tries to rap the choruses. Brad gives a jazzy touch when hes behind his drum kit. His beats and his rhythm technique is unique. This combination of the band sums up the sound basically. Think Beastie Boys combined with Led Zeppelin (Zeppelin-like guitar riffs, Beastie Boy vocals) Its groovy yet aggressive, it flows well and shows great musicianship. The songs ...

  • Rage Against The Machine - Evil Empire (CD 2000)

After RATM's awesome debut it's easy to see how you could be disappointed with Evil Empire. The self-titled effort contained mind-blowing riff after riff, never dropping the standard, classics such as 'know your enemy' and 'killing in the name' creating it an unforgettable album. Evil Empire starts in an equally great manner with 'people of the sun' beggining with Morello's guitar hooking itself round one of my favourite bass lines of all. Zach de la rocha chanting "its coming back around again, this is for the people of the sun!" in the 1st great song of the album. With a slight dip in quality with 'vietnow' aside 'Bulls on Parade' and 'revolver' follow brilliantly packed with some of Morello's best riffs to date and some unforgetable choruses. but its after 'revolver' that the album ...

  • Rage against the machine - Evil Empire

11 more tracks from the most talked about band of the last 20 years. Certainly not the best of Rage, but then what could be after the debut album. It's still a must have for all Rage fans. On ebay these days you can get hold of the this CD for a fair price. Only down side is that I think the artwork is naff.

  • Evil Empire

This was the first Rage album i bought and i love it! This album combines evrything good about rage solid rythem sections angry vocals and inventive guitar styles! When listening to this album you can never put it into one catagory! all in all a great album well worth buying!

  • Evil Empire - RATM

Zack De La Rocha at his best with the group that became Audioslave. Excelent album to go with Soundgarden, Pearl Jam etc.
