Basic computer, excellent value

Cateye Enduro - simple and reliable
I have found GPS Bicycle Apps to be clumsy, difficult and battery consuming. I love my Garmin products and no doubt would be essential in an emergency but nothing built by Garmin is user-friendly. I wanted a simple way to keep track of speed, time, distance and overall odometer miles on my new Bikepacking bike and be durable and most of all reliable. The Cateye Enduro is it. It was easy to install and while being “wired” may not be the most modern technology, it’s simple and reliable. I’ve seen other reviews talking about difficult instructions but I found them easy to follow. I have a compass on my watch so with a simple paper map and time, speed & distance from my Cateye.....I’ll never be lost. simple and easy to install and use
Very simple device, inexpensive and easy to read, I bought 2 after my first one. I recommend it for recreational use, I clocked 31 MPH max. so far, already put on 400 miles and still going strong.

They're great!
We have 2 Cateye Enduro units in use currently. One of them is nearly a year old. They're very nice. The wire from the sensor is a heavier gauge than the standard ones. The screen is very readable. The stock batteries are very strong and long lasting. Wireless sounds nice, but wireless emf is not very healthy so it's best to stick with wired devices of course.

Not as good as the older version
The good: Clear, easy to read display. Single mode button is easy to use while wearing riding gloves. The bad: Flimsy mounting bracket and wire ties are much cheaper than the prior version. Cateye also eliminated the start / stop feature in manual mode. The carbon and calorie counter modes are just estimates. Overall a cheap version of the better albeit discontinued Enduro 8.
