      Excellent, solid and quiet. And Made in USA!

      Heavy, well made, solid & quiet. Everything marked "Made in USA", too. All the pieces fit together extremely well, the installation instructions are super clear, and the XTR comes with everything you need, including a sink-top switch. It's even a nice, light blue gray color; not everything under the kitchen sink has to be dark and scary! I purchased a Waste King, and returned it. They'd covered the American flag on their box with a "Made in China" sticker. The Waste King is cheap and every corner has been cut that they can cut. With the Waste King, even the most important part, the ring that holds the disposer up to the flange, is nasty, burred metal covered with thin chrome to cover the fact that it's cheap iron. You can be sure it will rust in a few years, or even break when ...

      Works Great but drain guard is a problem

      Disposal works great and very quiet. However the drain guard is so rigid and covers the drain to the point that water will not drain through properly. I've read on several sites where this is a problem to the point where people had to cut away part of the rubber guard. Insinkerator should have tested that aspect of the product before releasing it to the field. It's manageable but annoying for such a simple solution. I do not want to just the guard but will hope that the rubber eventually loosens to the point will water will drain freely.
