Superb value for money.
This is a very worthwhile product which delivers exceptionally sharp images. The fact that it has a focus wheel on the top obviously facilitates one handed use and the raised grip combined with the lanyard provides security. Cosmetically and optically I cannot fault it but I am glad that I went for the 8X magnification as it easier to hand hold steadily. The case is sturdy and has a well made belt loop and the lens caps fit securely. A tripod screw is underneath, brass and therefore durable. Overall I am extremely happy with this product, the ED glass certainly avoids the fringing which can be seen with non ED glass.This is a very worthwhile product which delivers exceptionally sharp images. A very satisfying purchase for years to come
I initially sought to buy a traditional pair of bins, but upon thinking about portability as well as top quality optics and the weight that would incure I decided a 8x42 monocular would provide everything I wanted. The look and feel of this Hawke product is top class, it's rare to buy something that you feel will last you all your life ahead, this does. I used it to look at the poppy fields today, really vibrant colour from the coated lenses, the 42 diameter lens let's perfect amount of light in and 8 x was right choice for me for non shaky viewing. During lockdown and with lots of brief walks you don't always want to carry much weight ,not overly light but obviously half the weight of binoculars, it makes it easier to carry and ensures you always take it with you . Eye relief is good. ...
