Nice Isle of Lewis chess set made from poor quality material like plaster. It scratches and chips easily! The ivory coloured pieces have been finished poorly with something that made my fingers black. And the Queen scratched easily with my finger nail when I tried to remove some of the black stuff. The are no felt bottoms, the glue is there but not the felt. In the end it was a very cheap set at £37, so you get what you pay for!

I'm glad you think it's a nice chess set. I agree ☺ However, I would take issue with you about the quality of the material. It is not a cheap plaster but a good quality modeling compound, reformed stone. Just the material to make chess sets from and used by many other makers. It does however sound as if I was a bit too eager in getting it off to you before it had properly cured, hence the effect you experienced. Very unlike me to be sure. If you'd like a replacement I'm more than happy.

Ogg was not only clever, he was considerate, flexible, honest and efficient. when asked he agreed to send the two sets I purchased to two different locations. He made the sets in colours of my choice, and even added a second queen of each colour. Communication was terrific. Shipping was fast, packing superb, and everything arrived quickly after a very long journey in perfect condition. I wish every transaction were this enjoyable.
