When it's stuck it's well and truely stuck.

This glue was introduced to me by my father in law (a woodwork teacher) in the 60's. In his workshop he use to make teak furniture and oak tables etc for the home and family and sailing dinghies for the children. The only glue he ever used in woodworking was cascamite, mainly because it was the only true waterproof glue he would trust when making boats. The sailing dinghies were proof to this, surviving for ten years with the family on the Norfolk coast and then being sold on for a new generation to enjoy. The furniture is all still in various branches of the family and shows no sign of deterioration. The glue takes a few hours to set so no good for those who want a quick job , but when it has set there is no way it will ever come apart come rain or shine.

  • The Best

Still probably the best woodglue. Admittedly not as convenient as PVA, but you soon get the knack of mixing the right quantities needed for a job and, except in the hottest of environments, it will keep for an hour or so if you have surplus. It's certainly better when sanding a joint after the glue has set as it doesn't have the "rubbery" quality of PVA so the joint is easier to disguise if on a visible face. Cascamite has been around for many years and has unjustly been put in the shade by PVA glue. If you've never used before, then give it a try. If you stopped using it some time ago because of the convenience of PVA, then give it another try. I did, and have been pleased with the results. Woodwork is my living, so I depend on good products.

  • If you are looking for a strong waterproof glue then Cascamite is the one to go for.

I havn't used this tub yet, however I used to use this sort of glue and found it to be really good and strong, also waterproof as well as gap filling. It is much stronger and better than the white (PVA) glue.

  • "Does what it says on the tin!"

I have been using this glue since the late sixties. It is simple to mix up and works well. Not as tough as epoxy but is a good all round waterproof glue. Good for external joinery and small boat construction and repair.

  • Glue

Well I haven't used this since I was apprentice due to Morden glues coming on market but recently have been finding modern glues failing so back to old faithful yes you have to mix it and yes it takes quite while to set but no better glue for bonding wood together ,mark
