  • How Television drama ought to be

I revisited The Braithwaites several years after original broadcast. Script is brilliant and the actors outstanding. The psychology behind the story lines works, plus each and every actress/actor are 100% into their rolls. The Braithwaites should be used as a benchmark at Uni for media studies where the budding program makers currently have any common sense or orginality driven out of their heads. Loud noise nor flashy screen do not a program make. We need dialogue, actors who can embrace a roll, and tighter control over disparity of audio levels. Modern TV drama has degenerated into hushed moments, loud music and weak story lines. Braithwaites represents back to basics and is thoroughly enjoyable.
