    The superdrive arrived early and well packed in the original box. It looks brand new and unused, worked perfectly right out of the box when hooked into Mac Mini. This is an exceptional value for the drive since similar "refurbished" drives sell for $50 or more on other sites. So far I am very happy with this purchase and the seller.

    I'm old school and still look at DVDs on my new Mac Mini. My original Super Drive (at least 5 + years old) started acting up and figured it was time to replace. Since Apple stopped selling them I looked on Ebay. For the price this vendor was selling them I bought two! They both work fine and appeared to be in excellent condition (no scratches, dents or visible damage). I ran a couple of movies thru each and they worked just fine. I bought two to have a spare for the future just in case.

    I was using some cheap black plastic external drives, which, honestly, weren't bad. I had this problem where after enough time, my Mac (24" iMac, and later a 2014 Mac Mini) wouldn't recognize it unless I restarted. That was the only problem. So, after a lot of years of these two cheap drives working well (I would use one for a while and for some reason or another switch to the other, but they both had the same performance) and ripping literally thousands of CD's into my iTunes library, I decided to get this Genuine Apple USB drive, thinking that the problem of lost recognition would disappear.     This is a good DVD drive. However, it is not a state of the art modern DVD drive and this DVD drive will not operate off of a USB hub but it either has to directly plug into a computer or could operate using a type A USB extension cable. Modern USB DVD drives can use a USB Hub. The most recent Mac computers only have type C USB sockets and would need an adapter to use this older DVD drive. I wish Apple could come out with a newer DVD drive in its product line that could play Blu ray disks.

    After going the “cheap” route with other brands, including LG and Panasonic, this Apple version has proven to be more durable, more stable, and more dependable. And that’s from a refurbished unit! With the discounted pricing on eBay, this DVD device is worth every penny.

    I like the Apple SuperDrive so much that I bought this one for my husband.

    I really like this Apple SuperDrive and have lots of good things to say about it. I already own one, so I knew exactly what to expect. It's basically just plug & play. This model handles most disc media, so it's very convenient. Since Apple and several other laptop manufacturers are doing away with internal disc drives, I wanted to purchase Apple to go with my growing Apple office. It's pretty darn fast, small & light as a feather, and super easy to use. My only negative comment (more for the Apple engineering side of things), would be to include an eject button on the darn thing. There are absolutely no buttons on this device, which is fine most of the time, but if your computer gets stuck while transferring from the drive, you can't just push an eject button.     Another Great Apple Product

    Love Apple products (I am a Mac-head).... this dvd/cd burner works flawlessly, was easy to hook up, and does what it is supposed to do. I do a lot of music transfers from CD to my iPod, so this item was a must for me. It arrived quickly and was very reasonably priced.
