About this product

Product Information

The veteran Army Men series enlists with developer and publisher DSI's Zoo Games label for Soldiers of Misfortune, a more light-hearted, family-friendly engagement than earlier games. Players take the role of Timmy, a little boy who not only plays with his toy soldiers, but plays as them. He imagines himself shrunk down to the size of his army men and takes part in missions alongside them. Players guide Timmy from a behind-the-shoulder perspective as he makes his way across giant, household battlefields.

The Tan army is set on total domination, and must be stopped for the good of the entire household. Armed with appropriate weaponry (including a dart gun, a water pistol, and a bowling ball), Timmy joins the ranks of the Green army, to embark on missions of both action and strategy against their perennial enemies. At the size of a toy soldier, ordinary objects pose big tactical considerations on the battlefield. Building blocks and stuffed animals offer shelter and cover, while other strategically significant items, such as wall switches, become much less easily accessible.

  • Very challenging, but full of flaws... damn Wii remote!

Like all Army Men installments, this one has a green(goodguys) and tan(badguys) conflict. What makes this different is that Tommy-the boy who owns the toys is involved in the game. You play as Tommy and rescue the green. Tommy is the same size as the toys(honey I shrunk the kids) and goes on several missions. What completely kills the game is the camera angles and control; the remote acts as a pointer for the crosshairs. because it is not natural to keep the remote in a position as a gun while moving around, the weapon is constantly pointed in useless directions, making Tommy an easy target (the fact that he cannot jump doesnt help either). The game is more of a mat and mouse with some items that need to be found. It is nothing like the previous Army Men titles. **3DO did not make this ...

  • 5 yr old able to play with Dad, toys are soldiers, etc.

With duel controls on WII both Dad & Son could play together, not overly violent, toys are both enemies and good guys, I would buy again, a teen-age sales clerk recommended it and he was right, it is for everyone

  • Army Men

I just thought it looked fun. And I gave it to a friend & his wife for there three boys. And it was a good choise, they have had a blast with it. I just wanted to do something nice for them, his wife isn't working right now & money is tight for them. All 4 of the guys have had fun with it!!!!!

  • Army Men: Purchase of Misfortune

Terrible Controls! I purchased this game for my kids and they have a difficult time with it. I'm an experienced gamer and I myself found the controls to be challenging. It takes away the fun from the game.

  • Awesome game!

I love this game. It's perfect for my 6 yr old son who loves anything army. It's not violent like some army games and it gives him just enough of a challenge. Great game, I would recommend it to others.
