    Superb AV Amp

    So much better than the Yamaha Amp I was using before. The richness in the sound is undeniable. Loads of inputs, features and sound modes. Also a built in EQ and pre-out outputs. Just looks and feels like quality.

    An old amp showing its age now

    Once upon a time this was a great reciever but the example I purchased is certaily showing its age. Main display is dim, volume indicator light not working, and speaker relays are sometimes slow to click in. Probably what I should expect for a product this old at its price but disapointing nevertheless.

    The legendary Sony Street db940.

    I'm very delighted with this amp good quality loads of features nice clarity.Not forgetting the easy going & helpful service from mr dapper 1.Right I'm about to watch a movie through this Sony put it to the test.Also if you're new to the av amplifier world I would strongly recommend the 940 & 1040 qs series.

    Mind-boggling features - but a bit of a handful

    The STR-DB930 is rammed with features, the sound quality is great, but it showing it's age in a couple areas. There's no HDMI ports (well, off course..it's ten years old!) there are lots of inexplicable sound modes (who needs their music to sound like it's in an echoing "hall"?) and WOW the thing is massive! It's about the size of an old-school desktop PC. Still - the quality is very apparent. My unit, ten years on, still packs a punch. The remote and main unit have great build-quality and all the dials still have a satisfyingly heavy movement.
