    Good little axe

I bought this to dispose of some tree roots that were growing under the paving slabs in my garden, the seller quickly despatched it, and it is well constructed, is easy to handle and was sharp enough out of the packet to do the job I purchased it for in very little time, I am very pleased with this axe, and excellent value.

  • Surprisingly Good Value.

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the actual head of this handy sized hatchet and as this is the part which will be taking the main brunt of the work it is definitely the part which will cost the most to produce. At this price I would say that no one should be without one. The axe "blade" itself needs a little work to give a really good edge but that is the same with nearly all bladed items. The axe is of a good length for processing firewood or cutting smallish diameter branches or saplings. The handle is comfortable in the hand and pretty well balanced. Because of the paint finish on the axe head I cannot tell if the handle is just pressure fitted and glued to the head or if the handle has a wedge inserted, for this money I doubt if it has been "wedged" but that certainly is ...

  • Art work

Only used as part of a piece of garden artwork but certainly fits the bill for me . Not quite sure how it would work for cutting down trees !! or chopping wood . But it looks good

  • Cheap but it'll do

This is a cheap hatchet. There's no getting away from that. It's glued to the handle, and it's seriously blunt. But I bought it knowing this, and have replaced the handle and sharpened it, and it's a nice little hatchet now. I didn't *need* to replace the handle, but didn't like the look of the glue. But it DID need to be sharpened before use.
