I have had many Vostok watches over the years. The end of communism sale was good in that regard. I am glad I bought those other watches other wise I would not be aware of this nice brand of watches. While they aren't as cheap as they once where they are still inexpensive especially for what you get. This particular one is an automatic so if you wear it, it winds itself, no need to worry about forgetting to wind it. Best of all no batteries, I hate changing watch batteries. It has a 24 hour dial which I like a lot more than your traditional 12 hour dial. It takes some getting used to but, they have marked this one well so only the even hours are numbered so it is easier to tell at a glance what minute it is since those are in the traditional hour spots. I have another 24 hour watch where all 24 hours are marked and in the same size which makes it much harder to tell what minute it is. It is a small thing but makes a big difference. It has a date window at the 12 o'clock position at the bottom of the dial. I would have preferred to have it at the 6 o'clock position on the right but it is a minor personal preference thing. As long as it tells the date somewhere though I am a happy camper. I do feel that in retrospect that the white dial makes it harder to pick out the date window. Black or blue may have been a better choice in that regard. It is water resistant to 200m. So I can go swimming without having to worry. Good luck finding another mechanical watch at this price point that boosts that kind of water resistance. If my previous Vostok watches are any indication this one will take a lickin and keep on ticking. I have not beat this one up though. They are designed to be simple and tuff. Another nice thing is you can get these in several different colours for the watch dial and bezel. I chose white as I thought it would be easier to see when the lighting is dim. Speaking of which the hands and hour markers do glow in the dark. I have seen better lume on more expensive watches but the lume on this on isn't bad. The metal band isn't bad. You just need to get it sized to you. Once I got that done it was just a matter of getting used to fastening the clasp but, once you get the hang of that it is easy and, no need to worry about getting the band in you favourite hole like on a traditional watch band. I have seen these for sale with other kinds of bands though if you don't like the metal one. Or you could replace the band with one of your choice. Ok enough with the good, onto the bad. The glass isn't the most scratch resistant. As well it is domed, a function of its water resistant design, so it is easier to scratch it, than on a watch where it is flush or even better recessed in the bezel. On the plus side it is easier to buff out the scratches than on something that has mineral glass or the like. In my experience a bit of tooth paste and vigorous rubbing with my finger does the trick well. It is a mechanical watch so it isn't as precise as a typical battery powered quartz watch or a fine swiss watch. I can't remember what they rate these. My experience has been their automatics are about +20 sec a day. That is about what I am seeing with this one. It also seems to me that with time they tend to run more true. It is to early to tell if that will be the case with this one as well. Interestingly enough my experience with the hand wound ones is they are about +-30 seconds a day. So every other day or so I compare it to something that updates from the atomic clock like a cell phone. Not a huge deal to me. That about does it for the bad. In my opinion the goods far out ways the minor bads, especially at this price point. This watch isn't for everyone, it is an odd ball with the 24 hour dial. And arguably with modern battery powered or better yet solar powered quartz watches why get a mechanical watch at all? I like mechanical watches there is just something intangible there that I like. Old time craftsmanship perhaps? Or the faint ticking sound? I hate changing batteries so I usually don't. Which means all my battery powered watches have ended up being retired. This one winds itself so need to worry about winding it. Just wear it and forget the worries. I like analog watches I think they look better than digital watches for the most part and this one is no exception. I like military time, to me it makes more sense and is easy for me, so the 24 hour dial is a huge plus for me. Again not for everyone. I like the fact that these are rugged as I tend to break watches that aren't tuff in short order. With 200 meters of water resistance I don't have to worry about breaking it when I go swimming. The date window is also a huge plus. There really isn't much more I could ask for other than a day of the week indicator. It is a good simple rugged time piece. Nothing fancy but what else do you need in a watch other than something that reliably tells you the time?Read full review

VOSTOK 24 hours watch .....apperance is ok , polished stainless steel. The working mechanism is crude but functional. When you pull out the screwed crown to adjust the time etc, you will notice its very loose & lots of free play. This means the mechanism is not well done. I have a similarly priced 24 hours watch from CHINA and it has a better finish & tighter mechanism. Great for a daily wear novelty. Considering the price, its a ok product. As I have it only for a week, I am not sure if it will last.

Best value for a true 24 hrs dial automatic watch. The stem on these watches a bit sensitive in winding and setting mode, but otherwise great watch (also looks better on a strap than the so-so bracelet, imho)

Unbeatable value for what you get! This is my second Vostok. And its just fantastic. What I also like is that they are not too big. Perfect for my wrist. I put a white NATO on mine, and its just perfect now. Dont think that its low quality, this holds high quality. And for this price its just amazing. Its a steal, really, it is. Get it! And: Some people who dont know should know, that the "vobbly" crown is supposed to be vobbly, is not a construction error that some think. Its part of the construction for being able to withstand deepwater pressure. There are videos on the tube explaining how it works differently from for example swiss deepwater watches.
