Product Information

Making its debut onto the portable scene, Panzer Tactics DS is designed to provide a streamlined turn-based WWII strategy game for on-the-go play. Single players may take command of either the Russian, German, or American armies and then work through the 12 missions found in each campaign. Based around the historical events of WWII, each armed force begins in a different time period. For example, the Russian campaign begins mid-war as they try and rid their country of the invading German army, while the American crusade begins well after the start of the war. Units also follow the historical timeline and players are only allowed to select and use artillery, vehicles, aircraft, and infantry available at that point in the conflict. <br><br>The action will play out in the lower screen while the upper view shows important information such as terrain characteristics and weather patterns. When a core group of soldiers within the player's infantry makes it through battle, they can gain experience that allows them to cause greater damage and have higher morale. Morale is important in the game and when morale no longer exists armies will surrender. Defeating an enemy force, finishing missions, and capturing towns earns a player fame points to spend on new recruits such as a general to increase the abilities of units and commandos who can sneak through enemy lines undetected. Two players may compete in a "Hot Seat" game or up to four players can play together by connecting through a wireless network in one of ten multiplayer maps.

    this has to be one of the best turn based games on the DS

    I remember games like these on the commodore 64, as well as the old table top games. all the hexagon sections as a map, and the vehicle type being displayed as icons. You are able to play as the Russians, Americans, or Axis in this great turn based game. you need to thing about strategey alot, no running in head first. There is a lot to do, in the way that you can buy new vehicles, keep tabs on everything you have. It does take around 30min or so to get used to the games controls, but once this is done, the game opens up. i would reccomend this to anyone who like old style turn based games. The maps are layed out in grid style, and has diffirent terrain bonus and penalties, you can control tanks, armoured cars, infantry, aircraft, and war ships. id give it 5/5

    Great product. As an Adult Nintendo DSi lover I want more of this!

    A fantastic gamer's game for the DS. A hexagon mapped war game. Took me a long time to beat all the campaigns. I definitely think it is worth playing and the money spent. Russians and Germans go from the war's beginning to the fall of Berlin. The Allied missions are progressively more difficult featuring North Africa and Europe.

    Great Challenge Game

    This is a very good game directed towards those who want a challenge. This game has three different difficulties, and each are very long. Just easy mode can take almost a hundred hours, if you are going for the secondary missions.
