This impressive processing unit has an LGA 775 physical design. Land Grid Array chips like the Core2 Quad feature flat contact areas that link to motherboard posts. Combined with Zero Insertion Force (ZIF) sockets, this allows you to install the chip with less risk of damage.The Core2 Quad drives operations under the hood at a speed of 2.66 GHz. In addition to this rate, another level of power is available in cases of high usage. This is the Intel Q6700 overclocking capability, which allows running CPU velocities up to 3.64 GHz when the need arises. It also syncs with the Front Side Bus (FSB) at a rate of 1,066 MHz. This gives you a valuable reserve capability that comes in handy in a variety of scenarios.The Q6700 has a number of other ways to increase data throughput. This hardware is created with Intel's multiple-thread processing engineering design embedded within the core. This allows the four processing units to seamlessly work with applications capable of multi-threading operations. Capably supporting this provision is a full 8 MB of Level 2 cache located right on the die. This provides each separate core with 2 MB of space to work with and lets the CPU carry out read\write operations more rapidly. In addition to these performance options, the Intel Core2 Quad processor includes a number of Intel's Advanced Technology engineering tools. These are designed to further enhance speed, storage, and safety.The Intel Dual Dynamic Acceleration design works to control the frequency rate of any single processing core. By routing 2.66 GHz resources to active cores while inactive ones are sleeping, you can greatly improve performance. Having this ability can help you to be more productive and process larger workloads.Intel's DDA creation comes in handy when the time comes to implement Virtualization technology. This is a built-in volume of tools that serve to optimize virtual software environments. The Intel Core includes the ability to simultaneously support the operation of several discrete operating systems. With the Intel Core chip, you'll be able to combine many virtual servers on one machine. This allows you to save on resource output while enjoying greater flexibility and increased workload capacity. The Q6700 processing unit also uses Virtualization assets to increase overall security. The Intel Core2 Quad does so by keeping the virtual machine environment separate from operating systems.Acting in concert with this design is the Intel Enhanced Virus Protection (EVP) implementation. When used with supported operating systems, this tool acts to prevent viruses from executing their contents in program memory.
