Excellent set for a great price. Beware the 3rd season! As it is really different in tone and style. The first 2 seasons are funny and sharp. The 3rd season is not really worth watching.

Great show, poor DVD transfer. Looks like a VHS copy burned to the disc. Grainy picture quality. 4:3 ratio is meh. DVD menu looks like it was made on a 1990s clip art program. Feels like a bootleg for the lack of effort put into this release. I'd pay good money for a HD version of this show. I suppose this will have to do....better than poor internet uploads but not by much.

This series should include a warning label: PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO WATCH THIS WITH A FULL BLADDER! It is simply the funniest show that I have ever seen. Lenny Henry's epic battles with his wife, his kitchen staff, the customers and just about everyone who becomes the victim of his ire in his attempts to maintain and improve the standards of his two-star restaurant are indescribably funny. It is also a surprisingly realistic depiction of a high-class commercial restaurant. It is not slapstick, it is far above, and I would recommend it to everyone who has a sense of humor.
Well I loved the Chef Series when it first came out on the Public Channel and wanted a copy of the program so when I saw this I immediately had the opportunity to pick one up and I still love it. Lenny Henry is a great actor and his support staff on the program are all so funny in thier own way, since I am a professional Chef what goes on in the kitchen is really nothing like what goes on in this program if it was that easy like it is on the program we would not have to charge so much , over all this is a witty, with a dry sense of humor program that any British Citizen as well as any American would like.
