For many of us we use Caddies to fit our hard drives, this being fast and convenient to be able to swap them. With the advent of the SSD drives in 2.5 format it restricted their use because there were no adapters available. This is a superb idea and solves this problem, due to my age I am no longer strong enough to hump around a heavy floor standing tower PC. All of my hard drives other than the SSD ones are in plug in Caddies. With this I can remove them from the inside and use them in the Caddies. I thought sometime ago that someone should have thought of this and now they finally have. Before SSD drives were introduced my machine was set up so that I could remove the system drive, replace it and install a fresh copy of the operating system on either for me or to help others with a fresh install due to hard drive failing. It of course also being an easy way to read lap top hard drives or install an operating system on them. My only reservation is it is made of 90% plastic, I have had complete Caddies made of plastic and found their reliability lacking. But on this I am hoping this problem will not occur only time will tell. Advise anybody who has a similar set up to me to give it a try, if it does the job for you then it must be good value for money.Read full review

I was fitting a 2.5 SSD into a Mac Pro which has slide out bays for 3.5 drives. I chose this item without previous hands on experience of the design and am happy that it is doing the job, but it is fair to say the device is a bit fiddly compared to others I have used. Once screwed into the bay it worked fine and will probably carry on working for the life of the computer.

Allows instant insertion of a 2.5" drive into the housing designed to fit 3.5" drive bay with SATA connection. The housing reiles on spring pressure to secure the 2.5" drive within the housing and 4 screws are provided to locate the housing within the computer case. All worked and functioned as it should. I have no reservations about recomending this product.
