As the adventure begins, Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), an impulsive but goodhearted young man who lives on the dusty planet of Tatooine with his aunt and uncle, longs for the exciting life of a Rebel soldier. The Rebels, led by the headstrong Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher), are fighting against the evil Empire, which has set about destroying planets inhabited by innocent citizens with the Death Star, a fearsome planet-like craft commanded by Grand Moff Tarkin (Peter Cushing) and the eternally frightful Darth Vader (David Prowse, with the voice of James Earl Jones). .... so strong in fact, I changed back from the original trilogy on Blu-ray to this DVD boxed set! Worth it for the 4th DVD alone which contains lots of behind the scenes stuff and making of featurettes, which are fascinating to see, and really show how much effort, skill and vision went into the original movies all those years ago. Go for the GOLD packaged box set which was exclusive to HMV stores in the UK. I’ve had the black and silver box set of DVD’s before I upgraded to Blu-ray, but came back to this limited edition GOLD boxed set from HMV on DVD. Great picture. THX sound. Delighted! Entertaining but not a classic.
The original trilogy of Star Wars reminds of those Saturday mornings at the cinema to see the Lone Ranger and that sort of entertainment. Good family viewing with spectacular battle scenes that were revolutionary at the time of release. Also a bit of a love story to engage the audience. In short entertaining but not a classic.

As anyone who has seen the films will know what they are about. This is a great set of the original trilogy. The fourth disc in the set has some really good little features & one main documantary "Empire Of Dreams" which is approximately 2 and a half hours covering the complete making of the trilogy & it's really entertaining & informative, I have watched it several times & enjoyed it each time. This is a rally good set for fans that like to see some extras along with the films.As anyone who has seen the films will know what they are about. This is a great set of the original trilogy.
