    Does not do cross cut, just horizontal. Buyer beware !

    It said on the instructions that it could take up to five sheets of paper at a time. Erring on the side of caution, I thought it sensible to put three sheets in, it got about three quarters of the way through them and promptly got jammed ! The reverse mechanism whirred away to no avail. In the end, my daughter, who works in an office and was used to dealing with these irritating moments, spent about twenty minutes poking around the mashed up paper fragments and got it working again !! One piece of paper at a time and frequent use of the reverse switch is our recommended system of using this, rather tiresome shredder and it doesn't do cross cut either !!

    Not what it looks like in the picture

    In the picture, it looks like the motor part fills the entire space, but it doesn't the motor is thinner than the receptacle and doesn't close the top. Also, there is no divet for the cord to sit into so it bends up. It would be too much hassle to return but I should have.
