Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the masterminds behind SOUTH PARK, turn their attention to marionettes and politics in the riotous spoof TEAM AMERICA: WORLD POLICE. Combining the puppetry of the mid-1960s series THUNDERBIRDS with action/disaster flicks produced by Jerry Bruckheimer (TOP GUN, ARMAGEDDON, PEARL HARBOR), Parker and Stone tell the story of a small group of heroic figures who span the globe protecting democracy and freedom against terrorism. Along the way, they destroy such famous international landmarks as the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Sphinx in Egypt, and the Panama Canal. All the while they are developing close relationships that lead to love, jealousy, and betrayal. Their primary mission is to stop North Korean leader Kim Jong Il's peace conference, which is a ruse to allow him to attack the rest of the world with his weapons of mass destruction. Team America must also take on F.A.G., the Film Actors Guild, which is supporting the peace conference, including such participants as Alec Baldwin, Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon, Sean Penn, George Clooney, and other actors who have spoken out against the war in Iraq (but did not agree to be spoofed in the film). Parker and Stone reserve a special message for FAHRENHEIT 9/11 director Michael Moore, and even former UN weapons inspector Hans Blix shows up. Among the very funny--and very dirty--songs in the film are "Everyone Has AIDS" (from the Broadway musical LEASE), "Only a Woman" (about homosexuality), and "I'm So Ronery" (Kim Jong Il's soaring solo). Despite having no actual humans in it, the movie earns its R rating with lots of blood, very adult language, and a steamy puppet sex scene.

    excellent movie, good conversion, lacking features.

    The movie is great. Excellent piece of satire and full of laugh out loud moments. The UMD version was converted very well, and it's hard to notice anything left out of the frame (original was in full widescreen aspect ratio, PSP version, due to the screen size, is cropped at the sides). However, there are no special features, and no alternate audio tracks. there is only one subtitle track - English. For me this is no problem, as I'm a native English speaker, but some people may be disappointed. All in all, it is a worthwhile purchase, especially now that UMD movies can be bought for next to nothing, and played back on a TV using the optional component cables for the PSP.

    Team America...Hilarious Movie

    I bought this for my husband so that he'd have a comedy flick while deployed. I figured it would lift his spirits during the rough patches. The fact that it plays on the PSP is what sold me. It's compact which is perfect for my husband's Submarine rack. The smaller the better!! Of course the movie content itself, is beyond hilarious. The type that makes you laugh so hard you cry!!

    Funny young ADULT humor 18+

    This was a good movie for those of us that like the adult cartoons (not the same as anime) Involves sexual humor, drinking, cigs, violence, racism, but all in fun. Just want people to be warned this is not for the impressionable or young, or faint of heart. Still a pretty good flick I'd recommend mainly to the ages of 18-30. Older is acceptable younger is not.

    Great flick

    I love this movie, so i had to get it on PSP. The same kind of ridiculous, over the top humor you get from most of Matt and Trey Parker's stuff ( south park, baseketball, etc. ). If you like those kind of movies, I highly recommend this one.

    Team America World Police

    I've got a good deal on this umd movie Team America. It's new and the price is cheap. For the movie, it's very entertaining. However, it's rated R; may not be suitable for young viewers.
