Woodcut printer's device to title, woodcut decorative initials, lacking final index page, Block with some wormholes and small traces within text. Pages lightly browned throughout, a few old marginal notes, which appear as old as the volume itself. Bound in contemporary blind-stamped pigskin over wooden boards, the central panel showing various saints. Edges of the boards lacking the clasps. Coves with a few wormholes, soiled. Worn but extremely rare. Published in the Author's lifetime. Pedro da Fonseca (Proença-a-Nova, 1528 – Lisbon, 4 November 1599) was a Portuguese Jesuit philosopher and theologian. His work on logic and metaphysics made him known in his time as the Portuguese Aristotle; he projected the 'Cursus Conimbricenses' realized by Manuel Góis and others. Good overall considering the 430+ years of age.”
