Product Information

The black Canon camera body lets users create beautiful photos using several different modes to make them look professional. Users can use special effects to turn his or her photos black and white, sepia, or give other different creative looks. The small Canon EOS 350D/Digital Rebel XT lets a user capture the smallest images and create huge photos with its zooming feature. To get ideal colour balance, the user can adjust for this on the menu of the 8.0 MP digital SLR camera. There are also custom and automatic white balance modes to help blend the colour in and make the photos look even better. The Canon camera body offers up a quick start up and shoots 3 fps for capturing unlimited photos. To obtain unlimited photos, a memory card can be inserted into the slot located on top of the Canon EOS 350D/Digital Rebel XT. The speediness of the 8.0 MP camera is driven by the Digic II Image Processor for taking quick photos. The Canon camera body is powered by batteries that make it easy to take anywhere. This item is the camera body only.

    A light easy to use digital SLR

    Lighter camera than my Nikon but just as easy to use. The 18-55 mm standard lens felt a bit loose but didn't seem to affect the focus. My Nikon D3200 18-200 mm feels more solidly made and obviously heavier. Both cameras were bought secondhand so I expected the odd scratch on camera bodies.

    A perfect introduction to DSLR photography

    I did a general Google search on this model before buying and found it was noteable for being the first sub 1000 dollar digital SLR from Canon. About 10-15 years ago I did own a Canon 35mm SLR and got some great pictures with it. I traded that in and since then have been using an assortment of point and shoot cameras, mainly a Fuji S5700 7.0Mp "bridge camera" for the last few years. I only mention this as it will be my point of reference for this review. The first thing I noticed on receiving my "new" DSLR was that the display did not show what I was aiming at. Being used to non SLR digitals I forgot that the main feature of an SLR is that you actually look through the lens when composing a shot. Of course you don't see an image on the display!     Delighted to be surprised.

    Having used an EOS film camera for a number of years I only decided to delve into digital slr's when I discovered that my EF lenses would transfer without any problems. I bought the 350D for a bargain price on ebay and have discovered to my delight that I have bought well. The 350D lacks a digital display of the shot you want to take and the display screen is very small compared to modern compacts but the pictures I've taken so far have easily outperformed my wife's Sony Cybershot. The autofocus with the EF, USM lenses is fast and precise but can be confused at maximum zoom (75-300mm). For portraits and close up shots the results are very good and at 5m pixels are crisp with exceptional colour accuracy. Slightly on the heavy side it becomes hard to control with a long range zoom lens. ...

    As good as new

    The only reason it is not easy to use is down to my lack of knowledge but that will come with practise. The image quality has nothing to do with the camera body, that comes from the lens, all I purchased was the body. Everything seems to work fine so no complaints.
