I like the "measure your last shot" feature. It has helped me to discover which club to use within the 100 yd mark. I have found it accurate and very user friendly. It is easy to download (up to 20) golf courses. The batteries last 2 rounds of golf, so I have invested in re-chargable batteries and always carry a extra set of charged ones with me. Love my Garmin GolfLogix.
I Love this product. It is very easy to use. Login to website and download courses you want to store. When you arrive at the course you turn it on and it knows where you are. Display is very good even in direct sunlight. I'm not Tiger but it gives me all the info I need to make confident swing. I get front, back and middle distances to the green and it tells how far to any hazard. What else does a 9 handicap need? If only I could figure out a way to make it putt for me!! It auto advances from hole to hole and I never have have to touch it. Friends of mine have other type units and they are always fiddling with buttons or the graphics don't work right. This unit is rugged and dependable. Buy a couple of sets of rechargeable AA batteries and you are good for the season. I usually get 2-3 rounds on newly charged batteries.Read full review
I have been using Golflogix for several months and just purchased one for my wife. I like it much better than the Skycaddie because it is so much eaiser to use. There is not a lot of information (like Skycaddie) that I don't nrrd to know. My golf scores have improved because now I don't hit the longest club to try and reach a green that I am not capable of, I hit less club to lay up to my stength. It gives layup distance for 150, 125 and 100 yards. I've had no problems at all and the rechargable battaries last for at least three rounds, but, best of all they are extremely easy to use and you can download courses throughout the united state with the $29 subscription.
Had a little trouble getting the unit registered, but that could have just been me not hitting the right keys. Once it was registered, I had no trouble downloading the courses I wanted. All the local courses I play were in the database and loaded pretty quickly. Today was the first time I used it at a course and it did everything it was supposed to do and with accuracy. It read yardage within a yard or two of what was posted. All in all it seems like a very accurate and easy to use machine that, to me at least, is worth the initial cost and the course subscription fee
Clear display, easy to load and use, precise and accurate distances to green, sand traps or water hazzards shown every time. Automaticly advances to next hole. Makes choice of clubs simple and improves scoring. Only thing that could be better is if you could make one to read the break of the greens and distance to cup when putting.
I also have the Skycaddie SG3 and SG4. I bought the SG4 after not being able to trust the SG3 on the course (bought both of them new). I played with all three at the same time right after I purchased the Golflogix (my yearly membership happened to overlap with the skycaddies). The yardage on the SG3 and SG4 was sporadic and often different than the course markings. The Golflogix was dead on every time. It sometimes took the skycaddies 30 seconds or so to "lock on" to the correct yardage. The Golflogix was instantaneous. The Golflogix knew where I was when I began the round and was ready to rock within 30 seconds. The Skycaddies both took around 5 minutes to locate the satellites and feel good about themselves enough to begin. I have since played several rounds on several different courses with the Golflogix and it has performed perfectly.Read full review
easy to use.........typical Garmin product. Excellent quality and dependable. If I could change anything it would be the color. I would like to have a bright color that would be easily seen.
I purchased this unit after a golfing friend had been using one most of the year. It is nothing fancy, it just give me the yardage fast and simple. Easy to use and easy to load the courses from my Mac. The software is also easy to use when downloading courses from the Garmin website. I am very happy with this product.
This GPS is easy to load and I receive updates as courses are changed. The battery life is better than I expected. You have many courses around the US to choose. I haven't checked over seas yet.
No more guessing at distances, Layups as well as distance to the green are easier to determine. don't know how I survived without it. If you are thinking of getting A GPS for golf I highly suggest this unit, set up was A breeze and it's easy to use
