Great product that does everything that it says it should do. It might be helpful to someone if I do mention one thing. I use a Canon M50 and plan on using this teleprompter not just for scrolling text, but also to mirror my video conference calls so that I can look directly into the camera while talking. If the camera is just on a tripod, instead of using battery power, I use a dummy battery with a power supply plugged in to have permanent power without switching and charging batteries. This teleprompter, however, has the camera sit on a flat plate in order to be connected. This does not allow me to use the dummy battery arrangement because the plug-in for that setup comes out of the bottom of the M50 and would not allow the M50 to be anchored to the plate correctly. I'm thinking of a work-around by building a thin base to put between the plate and the M50, or else drill a hole in the platform at just the spot where my plug-in needs to go through, but I haven't attempted either yet. Just mentioning this in case someone is planning to use it as a more permanent setup for videoconferencing with a dummy battery.Read full review

This is a great little teleprompter for the money. Basic? Sure but that is the thing about these things, you WANT basic. The more bells and whistles you have the more that can break. This gives you exactly what you want. A solid base to mount your camera on, a solid place to put your tablet, and a way to get it mounted on a tripod. No muss, no fuss.

I really like this teleprompter and it helps in my broadcasting. The one downside is the cover, which I wish it was a bit more sturdy and collapsible right at the camera lens entry. Because I find myself folding the bottom part of the cover under the camera to keep it from getting in the way of the lens. Other than that it’s great and has several mounting options as well as options to fit everything from a cell phone to an iPad. Which is really nice.

I would highly recommend this product for the entry-level video production enthusiast. I use it with my Canon T5i, iPad Air 2 and Telepromot+3 to do my training video productions. I do my training in my office and it works great. I even tested with my iPhone and it worked fine...although an iPhone only displays a few words per line...so I bought an iPad for much better use.

The TMP100 is very solidly made, and a very good value for the money. The construction is solid and well machined, and I can feel confident installing my delicate electronics (Phone, Ipad, DSLR) in the unit. A few small points to note: - This is lightweight for its quality, but not feather weight. Make sure that the tripod you're using to hold the unit is sufficiently beefy to handle 8 lbs or so, which weight won't necessarily be balanced at the mount point (depending on your equipment) - The blackout cloth that wraps the back of the unit (and keeps the camera lens in darkness to increase readability on the glass) is better suited for a DSLR than a plugged in phone. You can make it work with a phone but it's a bit fiddly.
