SmackDown vs. RAW is a great game. Generally it is better than last year's game. The WWE Universe thing is kind of confusing. I can say the same for the updated Road to Wrestle Mania. But when you get used to it, is very easy to use. I like the superstar’s entrances and of course the great variety of matches this game has. But on the downside, I have to say that the new unlockables thing is very complicated. I would recommend that you buy the unlockables package. It just cost 0.99 cents and you do not have to break your head looking on internet to know how to unlock all that "Supposed to Be" NEW STUFF. Other thing I have to complain about is the facts that some wrestlers do not look like the wrestlers in real life. In facts those same wrestlers looked more real in last year's game. Finally, something that I am very upset about is that they did not change that confusing and very bad reversal system. Since they putted that "One Button Reversal", blocking a punch has become tougher than getting an A on a university class. It is too confusing and in my case, to win a match, you almost have to be unhittable because after you get hit, "The real problem starts". Besides all of those "Hits and Misses" in an overall rating, the game is pretty good. I hope THQ one day changes that reversal system. That is the most ridiculous thing they have done.Read full review
My last SvR game was in '07 and I have left the wrestling world since but recently returned because well. I just can't resist. Anyways, I started looking into the game series to see how things went.. LONG story short.. Must have IF you haven't played the SvR series since 07-08. PRO's: Huge in depth created modes, caws, move sets, entrances and story designer. Realistic weapon system and physics. Road to Wrestlemania isn't strong but still is fun. Great online community. CONS: Legend difficulty is fun but A.I ends up being to easy, Universe mode is a mix of old GM / exhibitions which watches your every move and tries to make a story out of it.. it's in cons cause it has it's flaws list. It looks to have potential to be better in the future though!
This year, it seemed like THQ and Yukes were listening to the player feedback from last year's installment. If you liked the No Mercy/Wrestlemania games days, add that element to the SD vs Raw series and you have replay value through the roof. I liked the physics in this game, which make for some impressive possibilities. I also liked the create a finisher in the corner. Not having to do a lot of matches is gone so you can make a 99 rating player if you chose to, but has been evened out with having to do matches and rank up to a title match. There is just too much I liked about this year's Smackdown vs Raw 2011. Is it perfect? No, but fun all the same.
If you're a fan of the series, you'll enjoy this installment. I find that the WWE Universe mode, at times, can be rather annoying when you want to put titles on the line. I'm also not too keen on the new CAW features. A few tweaks here and there from 2010, but all-in-all, nothing that screams: NEW!!! Has promising downloading content with it's all-access feature, but it's still too early to tell.
Well I expected more from WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2011 but it did leave a few bad impressions. First of all, the graphics weren't as great as I had anticipated, too many glitches through out the game. Also, it gets pretty repetetive after awhile(especially when playing a skilled opponent) because its so easy to counter moves. But its has its moments through out the game but can get boring quickly. The best thing about it would be customizing you're player, they give plenty of options to do that.
Its a lot of fun t tI believe the saying goes: "Another year, another Smackdown." Truly, this 365 is no different as it gives us WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011, the latest in THQ's long line of pro wrestling video games. Last year, I thought the game breathed a newfound life into the genre, and this year I feel like Yuke's and THQ are just expanding on that formula. That's by no means bad -- I had a blast with WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011 and really wish I was playing instead of writing right now -- but it's not groundbreaking like SVR '10.
I see a couple posts here that have buyers reviewing their sellers performance, you don't review sellers performance in a video game review section. You review the video game itself here. If you have a problem with the seller, contact the seller, contact ebay and if you want to leave public comments, leave it in their feedback profile. Do not put your comments here, you giving 1 star and 2 stars to a game when your problem is with the seller. Here you review the video game itself, the video gameplay, graphics, sound, replayability, etc. Not your buying experience. Anyway, I played this game, I've long loved wrestling games (even the bad ones) and especially enjoyed the Smackdown series. This series once again makes a few control changes, its biggest addition is the "WWE Universe" which lets you play, even in quickplay like you are actually watching a show. It has things like run ins, sneek attacks, post match attacks, mysterious match restarts...alot of stuff you see in an actual pro wrestling show. It does it a little too much in my opinion but you can turn "WWE Universe" off if you don't like it. This year, the game starts with a healthy selection of wrestlers and leaves about 40% of them locked. To unlock them, simply keep playing, eventually Vince McMahon will come out and offer you another opponent, beat him and you've unlocked the character. This year's version also offers alot of updated PPVs (The Bash, TLC, Hell In A Cell, Elimination Chamber, etc) and alot of alternate costumes, more so then I can remember in any previous Smackdown game. The graphics I feel are a step down, only a little bit, they still look great but some guys, just dont look quite right, Batista and Big Show for example, something about them, they looked more like themselves in the previous years. But overall, a great game. Not a HUGE change from the previous smackdown games but more changes then usual. Most of them I think are good welcomed changes. Alot of fun, I enjoy it very much.Read full review
For starters, there's a new mode called WWE Universe. This is basically the combination of the old career and exhibition modes. Here, the game is generating an infinite WWE calendar packed with Raws, SmackDowns, Superstars and pay-per-view shows. It plans the cards based on rivalries and rankings, and you pop in to play whatever match you want. If you don't dig a certain card, you're free to whip up a match of your own. The only catch is, you can't just put a Superstar (created or otherwise) into a world title match -- that honor has to be earned by climbing the ranks and winning a No. 1 Contender match (or snatching the briefcase at WrestleMania's Money in the Bank match). You'll play as people, raise their rankings and earn your spots. Even better, the game is tracking rivalries and tossing in random cutscenes. Maybe Vince McMahon introduces another opponent after you've won a match or maybe your opponent attacks you during your entranceRead full review
Awesome game. First SVR game I've played since the 2006 edition (which is still my favorite). The WCW Nitro arena which you can download is the main reason I bought this game (Tony Schiavone and Scott Hudson not included, lol). My only gripe about this game is the announcing....they really got sloppy with the commentary. For example, it might be Steve Austin vs John Cena, and Jerry Lawler will yell out "Oh no, Triple H is going for the pedigree!" Other than the commentary, this game is great. I love the fact you can insert your own entrance theme and make your own entrance videos.
