About this product

Product Information

This follow-up to Burnout draws its inspiration from such high-octane action films as The Fast and the Furious, Speed, and Bad Boys in an attempt to re-create the same thrills, crashes, and driving skills captured on celluloid. Burnout 2 features six locales based on U.S. regions, including New Mexico, Los Angeles, the Rocky Mountains, a metropolitan airport, and more. The single-player game has been reworked with a new championship mode, where drivers improve their ranking in each event by earning points, and a series of pursuit races where players slip behind the wheel of a police cruiser to ram opponents off the highway.

A total of 32 stages are available to race across in one of 14 cars, all of which are new. Players can also unlock seven bonus vehicles, from a 1950s hot rod to various stock cars. Each race features variable weather conditions, including rain, snow, and fog, as players attempt to avoid oncoming traffic. To help players refine their technique, Offensive Driving 101 instructs on the proper ways of weaving through traffic, catching air on jumps, and avoiding collisions. A new damage model allows for a greater variety of crashes than its predecessor, with deformable vehicles showing the effects of impact on doors, bumpers, hoods, and windshields.

Wonderful communication, super responsive and helpful seller! Beautiful, unusual drawer pulls totally exceeded expectations--prompt shipping and incredibly fast delivery, items arrived in perfect condition! Just installed the pulls on a $20 vintage dresser, and now the whole thing looks like a million bucks and is one-of-a-kind! So pleased. Thank you so much! A++++++

    Burnout 2 is the best

Burnout 2 is the best in all the Burnout incarnations, the rest just fell flat after that. It's nice you can enable progressive scan on the Wii or GameCube as well. Had it for years and it's still a favorite quick pick up and play when people come over. It's a party game, just you and a friend, or solo. One of my all time favorite games.

  • Burnout 2: Point of Impact

Burnout 2: Point of Impact has more tracks, more vehicles, a thicker single-player mode, extra modes to die for such as Crash and Pursuit, different weather conditions, pretty visuals, and a more impressive sound package. Plus, the GameCube version is better than the PlayStation 2 version with more crash junctions and an enhanced engine. I can only highly recommend it to any arcade racing fan. It's definitely worth a buy, even if the single-player content can be experienced in five hours of less. Crash mode, the Custom Series Champsionship, which features more cars to unlock and all the tracks in reverse, and the multiplayer make up for it. Few arcade racers can compare to what Criterion has pulled off.

  • Good game less features then the first one

Its a good game, but not as good as the first one, if you are debating on which one to get, get the 1st one its better you will be very happy with it. It has many less features, its not as fast, their is less cars, worse tracks Its good because you can choose the weather, better graphics, get boost easy, cool multiplayer I would rate this game a 4/5

  • CRASH!

I love this game so much that this is my second copy. I like the fact that there are different vehicles in your way as you travel through the streets and that they are timed to get in your way at different intervals adding to the skill needed to complete a 'crash free' race. The racing mode is fun with options to travel the courses forward, backward, night, or day, but most of all I find it wicked fun to be rated on my crashes! It's a family affair at our house.

  • If you are looking for a cheap, extremely fun racing game, this is for you!

It doesn't matter if this game is old, if you are into racing (the fun kind, like Mario Kart, not the ultra-serious kind), then this is the game for you. For an "old" game on the Gamecube, it still has amazing graphics. The different modes and races will keep you entertained for many hours. Modes include Championship races, single races, a crash mode, pursuit mode, or races against a friend (one only though). There's a decent number of tracks and many cars/tracks to unlock. I bought this game because I liked the original Burnout and I am definitely not disappointed.
