    It was horribly packaged. When mailing tubes, they need to be separated from the amplifier and individually packaged so that they do not break. I requested a discount because the item did not come as sold, and the price to replace the damaged tubes. The seller responded that you could send it back for a refund, which would have been a pain; if this had been packaged correctly, all would have been great.

    Old, used, but they do work (mostly)

    Perfectly fits my SL-Q2 turntable. The hinges work - however they are "worn" in that the part of the plastic (or bakelite - or whatever the material is) that normally stops the hinges from opening too far is in such condition (worn/scraped/damaged) that the hinge has no natural stopping point when raised and the hinge will open too far. That said, it still works but not as "normal". I am still OK with the purchase as these hinges are really hard to find. I got my turntable from a friend years ago and the hinges were missing, so I am happy to have them. I am still trying to figure out HOW to create a reliable stopping point on them, so if anyone has an idea... I am open to suggestions!

    Fair Price for the condition of the turntable..

    4 stars because it arrived undamaged in a timely manner and was packed very well and sensitive parts secured properly and was fully functional with a healthy drive system. Only took away one star because it was left out the needle and cart was worn out and no amount of adjustments could solve the skating problem that was happening along with the intermittent distortion. The cart was replaced with an AT-95c/h and the problem was resolved. Overall I am happy with what I received for the price point.

    Best of the mid priced Technics with Direct Drive, Quartz locked speeds and a heavy platter!

    The Technics SL-Q2/Q3 are two very good turntables with both accurate auto on function and the semi-auto feature the SL-Q2 uses(My table of choice) since pure manual tables will just sit at the end of a LP and damage the stylus if your not quick to lift it off the record. However, this table is excellent and still works like new even though it was manufactured in 1979 to 1980 and is now 40+ years old. I added some synthetic oil to my tables main bearing at least 2 drops once a year for perfect maintenance. (It's special oil designed just for the Technics tables) although I'm sure it works on the main bearing of any direct drive turntable The only two downsides are the extra cheap RCA patch cables this table is hardwired with is a possible issue. I'll have to get someone that can solder ...
