Pro's: Cheap printer. Quality aceptable, even with photos. Easy to use. 15000 pages before it conks out. Cons: High cost of ink. Waste ink absorbers fill up after 15000 pages printed and try as you might you cannot reset the page counter, even after having washed and cleaned the absorber pads. You are supposed to take it to a repair shop, (if you can find one) but the cost of repairing is much more expensive than buying a new one. (So much for re-cycling, I'm on my third printer, admitted over a period of 15 years.) I will be looking for another in about 5 years, hopefully by then Canon will have introduced a new printer that is more environmentally friendly. Summary, Will be looking for a printer with easy cleaning absorber pads and less expensive inks. This cheap Canon and similar are OK if you don't print reams of stuff. I now find myself watching my printing habits and only printing essential, sending everything else to Docs. Read full review

It prints very well and clearly . The set up instructions - which are all in pictures are shocking. Took me ages to figure out how to set up the printer . Written instructions are definitely needed . It’s lazy to just use pictures. Scanning things is a real pain on this printer . If I’d realised this I would not have bought it .

I purchased this to replace my Red Canon Printer which after a year started chewing up the paper, it was the same model as this one as I had only just purchased a load of new inks for it, It's a basic printer with limitations on paper weight and size, but it does for what I need it for with a copier and it prints both sides of the paper if needed, and it's cheap enough to replace, a set of inks could cost the same price as the printer and this does come with a set of full sized inks. so I class it as good value for money. As with all Canon printers you really do need to purchase Canon Inks, I've tried the compatible inks and they either won't register with the printer regardless of advertising so a waste of money or it doesn't show what the ink levels are and whatever they say the printing quality is noticeably poorer.Read full review

Basic set up is easy but a lot of the functions are beyond my skill level. the on line manual is difficult to follow if like me you only use the printer occasionally. For standard printing and photos it is great, I had the previous model and it is quicker and because of familiarity with the previous model I have had no problems.

Arrived quickly from Argos which was strange as originally tried to order from argos web site and was out of stock. Set up took a while using the CD that came with it and probs loaded lots of features we wont use. Works wirelessly which is useful but says it will also switch on wirelessly. I thought this was a great feature but I can get it to work for some reason.
