A must have for creating your own outfits for Gene-Tyler-FM dolls.
The book contains actual pattern pieces, and sewing instructions, for each of 9 outfit and accessories They do need to be enlarged before sewing. Each outfit is an example of the fashion of the day; from Victorian, through the 60's and ending with a contemporary outfit which has a brocade corset, and options for skirt, beaded pants, knitted sweaters etc. All of the patterns are designed to fit 15"-16" fashion dolls such as Gene, Tyler, Esme and Franklin Mint vinyl body dolls. I imagine some minor alterations may need to be made depending on the year/make of your particular doll. The book is comprehensive, with sections on appropriate selections of fabric, notions and trims as well as basic sewing techniques. Knitting and crochet patterns assume you already have these skills in place. There is information on sources of materials as well as the sources used as inspiration. The outfits are rated as to sewing difficulty as well. This is an invaluable resource for anyone wanting to sew outfits for these dolls. The basics are there as well as inspiration to design one of a kind ensembles. You won't be disappointed.
