    A great step up from the Gen1 Chromecast.

    Gives you access to many different visual formats. The remote control will not control your TV volume or switch to "standby" if you have an older TV that is not a smart TV ( as in the case of my Finlux 15year old TV ) Device will not power up using the TV`s USB. You will have to use the mains adapter. Follow the onscreen instructions and you will not go wrong. I have read about some people having to use bluestacks to enable use of a laptop. I have no come across that problem ( so far ) and have been able to "cast" from my laptop to the TV. It was as described, brand new in an unopened sealed manufactures box. There are multiple platforms. Netflix, Apple TV etc. For these you will need a subscription to view, but BBC, ITV etc are freely available. This replaced my Gen 1 Chromecast which ...

    Great streaming device despite frustrations in final set up.

    I was setting the Chromecast up on my Windows laptop so I had to use an Android Emulator as it is an Android device. I used the much recommended BlueStacks Emulator. The Cromecast set up was quick and easy until I had to download and install Google Home via Bluestacks. Although Google Home was downloaded I have been unable to complete its installation due to its failure to connect to my Wi-Fi or my Bluetooth. I've tried a complete reinstall and numerous attempts to solve the Wi-Fi issue. However, Google Home has installed successfully on my IPhone. Having setting aside this frustration, the Chromecast works perfectly as it should and the little remote control ha all the basic controls including Voice. Perhaps I will try a reset with a different Android Emulator sometime.

    smashing little gadget

    This neat little gadget opens up a whole world of streaming to an otherwise "dumb" TV -either through in-built apps, or by casting from your Android device. The HD picture looks great on my smallish TV - if you have a large screen you may prefer the 4K version.
