Each book is written by journalists who also are long-time fans. Titles feature biographies of each member of the band and time lines of the band's creation, popularity, inspirations, and recordings. Rock fans will already know the important highlights of Judas Priest and KISS, but the authors add a few surprising facts: When Rob Halford, lead singer of Judas Priest, took a leave of absence from the band, he was replaced with a singer from a Judas Priest tribute band. When Halford came out in 1998, it was a defining moment in rock, because there was so little backlash. Everyone is familiar with KISS, even if the only song you know is their anthem, "I Wanna Rock and Roll All Night", but not many know that the Beatles inspired the band's creation.
