SynopsisBook 1 in the Space Marines Battles series by up-and-coming author Steve Parker. When the ork hordes of Warlord Snagrod lay waste to the planet of Badlanding and wipe out the Crimson Fists sent to stop them, Chapter Master Kantor prepare a hasty line of defence on the Fists homr planet of Rynn's World. Tragedy strikes when an errant missile destroys the Space Marine's Chapter monastery, killing most of their warriors. With a handful of Crimson Fists left, Kantor must fight the campaign of his life, to defeat Snagrod's orks and prevent his Chapter's annihilation.
Character development was written well, and showing the humanity and affection a Space Marine can have.
Book is well written, although, I will show bias due to me being a huge WH40k fan.
Throughout the book you see the humanity and passion that Space Marines can show for there fellow man. You can see the conflict from cover to cover, some protagonist look a humans as mere tools for humanity as a whole while others value each soul and protect them with there lives.
This is my first read in the "A Space Marine Battles Novel" series, also first for the Crimson Fist Chapter.
great plot and character development, showing the hardships of being a super solider for Mankind and that it's not an easy life. The writer showed the burden that a Chapter Master carries when they are close to extinction. I recommend this book for any Warhammer fan that is into Space Marines...of course, hence the title.
But if gore and gruesome details are not your thing, just pass this one.
I’m enjoying the read very much so far the problem is the pages are literally just falling out of it. I’ve got nearly a dozen loose pages after just starting the book
