Synopsis
The technique of painting from photographs and the study of color are combined to create a strong, mainstream book for beginning and intermediate artists. Dawley traces his evolution from a traditional to an impressionistic painter, and many of his dark, detailed paintings have been redone in shimmering fields of broken color to illustrate the differences in these styles. 200 color illustrations., A study of the use of colour. Tracing Dawley's own evolution from a traditional to an impressionistic painter, this book analyzes the differences in palette and brushwork of these styles. It also shows how to use photographs to understand and interpret colour, light and composition.

- e***g (58)- Feedback left by buyer.Past 6 monthsVerified purchaseExcellent prices on used books in great condition. Shipped out quickly. Product condition is accurate to rating in listing. Thanks! NOTE: For this particular book (I ordered several), it came in a soft cover rather than hard cover as the listing stated. I contacted the seller and they responded promptly. They agreed that it was a listing error and provided me with a full refund for this book (without return required) proving they are both a responsible and trustworthy seller.
- 0***1 (1557)- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchaseThis book arrived within the time period given and was in the 'very good' condition described. Unfortunately, only being packaged in a plastic bag to traverse the Atlantic meant that all four corners got a battering (I would be happy to pay bit more in future for a bit of cardboard support in packaging) but all in all, the price was good and overall service for books that are difficult to get over here, I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend this seller. Will buy again from them.
