Very effective
I bought this for our partially sighted 16 month old border collie. He was beginning to track fresh scent trails and was oblivious to commands once locked on. In this rural area, it would be easy for him to run onto the neighbouring farmers land where there is a shoot to kill approach. All other avenues were attempted but nothing worked...except this collar. After using the beep and static shock once set at a low level, he soon stopped. Now, 2 months on he stops tracking at the sound of the beep. It's rare I have to resort to the static shock. The static shock levels are excellent. I have it set at 4, so fairly low. The beep and buzzer are as high as they'll go at 10, but are effective enough. The range is excellent, as is the battery life. I'd recommend this product, definitely. For me, ... Pro's: + Waterproof. + Collar unit seems to last a long time between charges. + Collar can be cut down to size. + Beep, vibrate and e-stim are all separate buttons, makes it possible to transmit any type of feedback without looking at the handset or fiddling with settings, and can't send the wrong signal by mistake. + Holding down the button causes it to pulse the signal, which is easier to notice / harder to ignore than one long unbroken transmit. Con's: - When you push a button, there's a 0.5 second delay before the collar unit responds, so it's inaccurate for training with. You can push the button when the dog is doing something you want to discourage but he only hears/feels it after he's stopped. Collar response should be pretty much instant. - When the collar vibrates, almost ... Vibration is strongest on the outside of the collar unit. There's almost no difference between the 10 vibration levels since the dog is barely aware of any of them. - E-stim mode is painful even on the lowest setting. Tried this on my hand & arm, the pulse feature seems to make the shock strength increase exponentially as long as the button is held down. Cruel and unusable for anything except traumatising the dog. It should be barely a tickle at level 01, allowing more subtle feedback than vibration - this was a big reason why I splashed out £40 on this collar. All in all a huge disappointment and waste of money.

The device works on the distance of 600 m and it makes attention of the dog by sending a sound, vibration or static electricity signal. I tested vibration and sound on the level 1-2 out of 10 and it worked very well to reinforce the coming. Our males immediately associated the signal with my command. Compatible with soft training methods, easy to use for up to 3 dogs, if you have additional receivers. The static electricity is very mild up to the level 4, which I tested on my own hand. Brilliant Gadget
I bought this product on the advice of our boarding kennel owner after discussing recall issues when either our rescue dog has seen a deer or similar and is oblivious to any whistle/call or tried to escape going back on the lead at the end of a walk. I was hesitant to use this thinking it was cruel but have just started using it in order to have peace of mind around livestock and to broaden the range and number of walks that we can enjoy. I think it is brilliant, I have only had to use the shock (level4) once and have since just used the sound. I would far rather have our dog enjoying the freedom off the lead, exploring the countryside and have to resort to using this gadget to protect him or another animal, than have him completely frustrated pulling me along at the end of his ... I have a one year old German shepherd, he has a tendency to stalk other dogs & once he’s started stalking, he’s so fixated on what he’s doing all commands go out the window! I haven’t actually used the shock yet, because I’ve not needed too the beep & vibrate are effective enough! Once he starts stalking a quick beep is enough to snap him out of it! Also, because of his age he wants to go over to every dog he sees, if he starts going over a quick vibrate (only on level 4) is enough for him to come back to me!
