It's best feature is the included remote, since in most applications it will often be in an inacccessible or hard to work with location, eg. in an RV, because there are not available spaces convenient to both the battery bank and it. But it needs 2-0 cables to connect those, yet they do not include lugs for those connections, so you have to find them, which typically needs an electric supply house. It's WORST feature is the WACO connectors which require a fine screwdriver (included) to open EACH of the three connectors for the typical 10-2 AWG which will connect to it for the 110VAC connections. That wire is STIFF, so getting the three conductors to all properly connect is a nightmare in any enclosed space - simple clamp screws like those in ANY circuit breaker would have been FAR more appropriate. I wound up having to put individual conductors into the WACO connectors, then attach THOSE via wirenuts to the main cabling, which is an added potential failure mode for the system, but was necessary to accomplish the installation. Also a concern is testing - although you would think that having no power connected would pass-thru the AC, you cannot simply test with a VOM. Only the ground will show conductive. As well, the ground lug does NOT connect directly to the (-) terminal, which is how the battery bank would be expected to be connected, since it requires an negative ground system. So you have to attach a separate grounding cable. Otherwise it seems a great unit for the price.Read full review

Just wanted an inverter for my RV. I have a solar powered 1200 amphour battery bank I prefer to use instead of running a generator. The ad for his inverter promised a detachable remote control panel display and capable of running electronics such as computers and tvs. It doesn't. Other models may have detachable face plates but not this one. If you want battery status info you have to install separate gauges, or just get out and go back and look. It won't run any of my (SMART) TV sets or one of my DVD players. They turn on then in 10-15 seconds turn right back off. If I want to watch TV I still have to go start the portable generator. Trace used to be the most respected name in inverters, but I guess the company has lost a lot in its evolution to Xantrex. This is the 2nd (and last) Xantrex inverter I have bought that greatly disappointed. Read full review

Purchased this unit to replace burned-out existing unit of the same. Product works well with plenty of power for pontoon. Have it charging dual batteries. Invertor provides great AC power. Easy to install. No Cons.

Works well and does it's fulfills its purpose. I question the durability as the unit as the one it replaced lasted only 5 years.
