Given the age of the castings (over 50 years old) a nice model that I am looking forward to completing, I was going to use it in a static display setting, but am now thinking about how to make it as a running model. the item was promptly sent and well protected in the post. Thank you

Easy to put together and a good performer

A simple and low cost way of motorising the Dapol railbus kit. Good quality motor, gears and instructions. As mentioned the metal wheelsets are not included as they are in the Dapol kit so if using an earlier Airfix/Kitmaster version you will need to source a couple of wheelsets. Motor centrally mounted and drives both axles - pick up is on all wheels so I found the chassis to be a good performer. I really recommend this chassis and the railbus kit as a great little project for lockdown.

  • Light and easy

Good reproduction, good scale. Larger parts are a little bent but left an sunlight with a little persuasion the can be easily straightened. Enjoyed painting and building and will be making a perspex case to display on oo rail.

  • Dapol Railbus motorising kit

Motor and gearset ok actual extrusion that forms the chassis i replaced with an aluminium extrusion as the cutout for the motor was not square to the sides but it does give drive to both axles also added extra support for the motor shafts and added flywheels

  • Lovely little model

Built the original Airfix version many years ago, glad to get another kit which will be used on my planned layout of Lowestoft Station set in late 1950's. Have not built this kit yet but looks as if parts will fit OK.

  • easy to assemble and small parts (not many) easy to handle.

I would like to think that the production process which was producing in the Deltic has now conquered the original body side warping, as the last one Number 10 in my collection which I have just started assembling is very satisfactory body wise so far. Is there.any chance that Heritage loco's like the Class 47, Class 50, Class 37 locomotives for example may well appear as kits for assembly (just like the Deltic. In conversation with enthusiasts there is definitely a market for them to start with.
