This is the same as my first GPS sports watch. I am a visually impaired runner and use this one since it has a large display. This is my 2nd one over a period of about 8 years. As a VI runner, I have found this one very user friendly and the software, Timex Device Agent, is also user friendly. Most GPS watches are touch screen no and probably fine for most runner/users. But for a person who is visually impaired, touch screens make it almost totally unusable. As long as I can get the Timex Iron man Run/Trainer GPS, I'll be able to keep using a GPS watch. It has been discontinued by Timex so I'll keep buying them used as lo0ng as I can.

The watch does acquire GPS fairly well and gets about 6 hours of GPS use per charge, however the support for it's format is now non-existent. You will have change format to upload to Strava and even it's own software " device agent" is not supported any longer. What does kill the watch for me however, is the alert tone is so high tone I cannot hear it. If only it had a vibration function. The indigo light function is crappy as well. The watch is also quite bulky compared to other GPS watches on the market.

I took a gamble and purchased these watches with no warranty and no return policy. They were being sold for parts only. I have had Timex sport watches for 40 years without any problems, so I hoped these watches (although not working at the time) would not be too difficult to repair or to get working. After doing research on the internet about similar watches, I bought the necessary charging cables to connect the watches to my computer, followed the "initial" charging directions I found on the internet, and with a little patience and persistence, these watches are now fully functional. So now I have plenty of presents ready for both sons and for myself. I wear my GPS watch everywhere even when I'm not running. I enjoy looking at the altitude readings, my running pace, and how far I've ran or cycled. I was surprised how fast it picked up a satellite signal. It's everything I wanted in a GPS watch. It even reads my ANT+ heart rate transmitter. It has several other bells and whistles that I don't use (yet!).Read full review

This thing works great. A little tricky to get used to, but once you figure it out, it’s the best watch for the price. I use it for hiking, and tracks in places where I get no cell reception.
