    Very pleased 😁

This is the first chimney cowl I have bought so I wasn’t sure how much money I needed to spend to do the job properly. This particular item came in a lovely presentation box, it did not have any instructions but it is pretty straightforward to attach. The cowl looks great, it is a sturdy metal (I thought it was going to be plastic), the mesh is great to protect from birds and rodents, and the jubilee clip is easy to connect and holds the cowl in place very firmly. I would definitely recommend this chimney cowl in my limited experience.

  • Great quality and easy to install, does the job perfectly.

A very good high quality product! The hard paint finish should protect it for many years to come and getting it fixed up on the chimney pot was easy and straight forward. In fact it took longer to unhook the ruddy ladder from where it wedged itself against the chimney breast than it did to fit the cowling! No more poor pigeons to find behind the gas fire!

  • Good value for money

Pros: Effective and stylish. Cons: Ferrous metal fittings, although painted or plated, will undoubtedly rust. A liberal smearing of grease was applied to offset this for the future. Difficult to fit to a very short chimney pot; there was less than an inch between the bottom of the cowl and my chimney pot surround slab. Thus, I had to bend the retaining straps under the cowl and shape them to fit so that the clamping band could take effect. I did consider using only the strap fixing screws to clamp the cowl to the chimney pot but it is doubtful if the screw end faces would have exerted sufficient pressure to withstand wind uplift and therefore decided that forming the straps as described was the better solution.

  • Good build quality for the price.

A really effective way to block your chimney from down-draughts and/or birds. Solid metal construction fits firmly to a standard chimney pot. It's easy to fit 15-20 minutes. Just make sure you wear some safety gear.

  • First Class

identical cowl(s) cost much more also they request excessive postage, using parcel force puts every body on a level no matter where you live in the UK apart from giving a first class service. I cannot fault this company for quality of product and service.
