This is a budget true underpinner.
After only briefly using, I can say this tabletop underpinner is the next best item to any budget workshop unit. It.s well made, & of a good design, and the results if used properly are really very good. The awkward bit, I found, was positioning the v-nails before driving them in. It's easier to mark the v-nail positions using pencil marks on the moulding sawn edges rather than use Logan's distance scales, prior to driving in the 1 or 2 v-nails. Suitable for the amateur framer!
It works well enough, but the construction is not precision engineered, but adequate for the price. The handle and other moving parts have a tolerance of centimetres so it all feels a bit sloppy to use. Fine for the amateur framer who is making the occasional frame, definitely not a professional piece of kit!
