Good written instructions. I activated from US before trip and it was a snap. My sister activated in Costa Rica and seems the customer service routing might look at caller # because she didn't get English speaking agent until she dialed from a US # (but that may have been random chance) The instructions tell you a app to recharge with and that is super easy too.
