Electric impact wrench
Brought this for undoing really tight motorcycle flywheel,primary drive & clutch centre nuts/bolts as sometimes I just couldn't get enough air from my small compressor to power an air impact wrench. It buzzed them off in no time. A bit bulky compared to the air version but does a great job & for the money I'm very happy with it so far & intend to use on stubborn car jobs too.

Surpassed Expectations
I bought one of these 3 years ago on a whim simply to add my collection of DIY car maintenance tools. I had toyed with the idea of buying an air compressor and air tools, but I figured I needed at least a 100 litre compressor, but I just don't have the space on the garage for it. I've used this mainly for removing stubborn wheel nuts/bolts, and it has coped without any issues in the past. However, the biggest test came more recently when I had to remove a suspension bolt that hadn't been touched since the car was made (nearly 9 years and over 110,000 miles ago). After spraying the stuck bolt with penetrating fluid and bouncing as much weight on the breaker bar as I could (without tipping the car off the jack stands), I moved over to getting out my trusty electric impact wrench. In less than 5 seconds, the bolt was spinning freely, and I was able to complete the job. In that one job alone, it paid for itself. Had I been forced to give up and put everything around the rear axle back on the car and drive to my mechanic and pay him to do the job, all in it would have cost me a lot of time and money. The only negative thing I can say about this tool is, compared to an air impact wrench, it is a good few inches longer, meaning you need more space to get into tight areas. However, a decent compressor and air impact wrench would cost upwards of 300 quid, and you'd need the space to store a large compressor. The included impact sockets is a bonus, and I've had reason to use all but the 22mm socket in the 3 years I've owned it. No sign of wear and tear as yet. Nice heavy duty storage case with strong closing clips, unlike some cheap cases I've had where the tabs break off very quickly. Very easy to use. Has excellent torque, but is safe enough to use that it won't rip your wrist apart. Cable length isn't huge, but long enough that you're not tripping over the extension lead. I can highly recommend this to all DIY car mechanics. You'll be doing a lot more than just taking the wheels off your car once you get working with this tool. I've added a couple of pictures to show the decrepit state of the rear axle and the nightmare bolt that I referred to earlier, just so you know what this gun can deal with. Hope it helps.

This mains powered impact wrench is identical to the more expensive 'Clarke' branded item, the instruction book even uses the Clarke name in one section ! I paid £55 including postage which seems good value. The 450nm torque rating seems wildly optimistic but it loosened the rusted suspension strut bolts that were causing me problems. Powerful brute
Seems very powerful. No control of the clutch torque,preset. The Forward reverse switch takes some getting used to. Got fed up with battery units not being up to the job.

Fantastic bit of kit
Got this to get the torx bolts off the bottom of the gas struts on the rear of a 12 year old Vectra. Got the buggers off no problem. Plenty of grunt for stuck on bolts. A bit larger than the cordless ones but still useful.
