OK, this item was only £1.20 with £1.99 postage and the CD plays alright. But, this is yet another example of a seller listing an item as "used very good" when it clearly isn't in very good condition. The jewel was not only broken on the outside but also on the inside. Luckily I have a stash of brand new jewel cases and was able to swap it over. I accept that it could have been broken in transit, but had the item been packed better, it wouldn't have happened. Hence the neutral review.

Item arrived promptly!! CD worked fine but the CD case itself arrived damaged!! Notified the seller twice about this issue but I unfortunately had no response at all from the seller!!�� So I had to replace the case myself where unfortunately I won't be dealing with this seller again!!

The was, and will be only ever one group known as The Clash, when Joe Strummer died, the true meaning to the world rebelious left the English dictory. The Story of The Clash gives you an over view of all their records, famous, infamous, and forgotten about, they're all here... listen and learn

The only band that matters
Great album, listing most but not all of the famous and landmark tracks from all 4 Albums to date. I had this 20 years ago, and re-bought it because I liked the conciseness of it, even though I have all the Albums and EP's anyway. If you want a cronology of the Clash's work's then forget The Essential Clash, this is the one. Hidden interview on disc 2 that sounds like they're on a tube train. Would have liked to see "Stop the world" included, an underestemated track, but you can never have to much Clash in your collection. When Topper was sacked, the Clash didn't exist any longer, so this album is a transcript of the clash till that event.Great album, listing most but not all of the famous and landmark tracks from all 4 Albums to date. The Story of the Clash
This album is an essential for the car stereo. It contains most of their best known tracks so it is ideal for that purpose. It's not a complete collection though so some of your favourite album tracks might not be there. It's also very good in that the tracks are not listed in date order so you can be listening to a song from the first album followed immediately by something from Combat Rock. It's great to hear how the band developed musically in one collection. It's a collection of most, (but not all) the best songs from the best band ever. Pretty much perfect really.This album is an essential for the car stereo. It contains most of their best known tracks so it is ideal for that purpose. This is the best cd to get a general all round feeling for the Clash. It covers all their more well known hits for those of you just discovering this amazing cult band and some other not so well known to get a feel for the rest of their material. Brilliant legendary group!
