Love the name Stalag which was explained clearly at the start of the film. It clarified and put me in the picture of the film
A good story of survival but hated how William was treated and suspected, beaten by his comrads. However, loved how it all unfolded and how William came to become an active hero in the end. But there was no romance, it was singularly about prisoners in a german prison camp so for me a bit boring but great to finally see the film that gave William Holden his first and sadly only Oscar win

This may be an old movie , but the story still has a punch. It is well thought out ,the acting is good , william holden is particularly good.dont judge it by its age. it is a different slant on the prison camp movie. I bought it because it was the type of movie my dad would watch.and there is alot worse movies out there.
